Pechanga was among the first of the tribal casinos to close in Southern California, shuttering March 16 before temporarily laying off employees as of April 1 as the shutdown continued. So far, casino officials have not announced when those things might reopen or return. Pechanga’s poker room and off-track betting facility also remain closed. Its pool, spa, Eagle’s Nest Nightclub and Pechanga Comedy Club remain closed and some of its eateries, such as the buffet, also remain closed. The casino does not plan to hold any concerts or major events for the immediate future. Pechanga’s hotel will begin accepting reservations starting July 1.

Monday’s opening was just the first phase of the resort getting back to business as usual. At Pechanga’s Temptations Food Walk food court, some tables appeared to have been removed and the remaining tables were spread out at distances of six feet or more.
